PIVOT Bed Parts Identification

Above: Everything in black towards the bottom is the 'base' which remains static on the floor, against your wall, at all times. Everything else is the 'frame' which is more like your traditional bed frame, and this pivots within the base.

Dimensions

Like most beds, the PIVOT Bed is available in various sizes. These sizes correspond to the standard local mattress sizes in each territory. While some measurements are identical across all sizes, many are different so we’ll provide the standard measurements first and then break into individual bed sizes. As international mattress sizes vary, and names for them vary, we'll provide measurements for each mattress size in each dimension – length and width.

All height measurements don't include any mat solution, including our own which we’ll provide separately.

All of our measurements are provided in millimetres (using the metric system). If your country uses the imperial system (inches) you can use any search engine like Google to convert them by typing, for example, 1234mm in inches.

Standard Measurements

  • Distance from the wall behind the headboard to the tip of the base unit sides, which remain in place at all times: 1060mm
Note the design reaches over any base/skirting-board so ignore these if you have them.
  • Top of the wall mount (so where any wall-mounted headboard is free to start from): 600mm
  • Rear wall to the ‘underside’ of the mattress panels when bed is vertical: 410mm
  • Floor to underside of mattress panels when horizontal (storage space): 306mm
Note the under-bed storage space is non-uniform and this measurement is the most commonly available space.
  • Floor to bottom of mattress: 324mm
Note: to find how high the top of *your* mattress will sit when horizontal add the thickness of your mattress to the above measurement.
  • Power rack uprights outside-to-outside: 1150mm
Note: power rack width does NOT differ between mattress/bed sizes

Width Measurements for 1600mm wide mattresses (e.g. EU king)

  • Available width within frame for mattress: 1600mm
  • Outside-to-outside of the base unit metalwork: 1767mm
Note there are some screw heads which extend about 5mm more on each side.
  • Total width of the frame at the foot end, at the ‘legs’: 1666mm

Width Measurements for 1500mm wide mattresses (e.g. UK king, US queen)

  • Available width within frame for mattress: 1500mm
  • Outside-to-outside of the base unit metalwork: 1667mm
Note there are some screw heads which extend about 5mm more on each side.
  • Total width of the frame at the foot end, at the ‘legs’: 1566mm

Width Measurements for 1350, 1360 & 1400mm wide mattresses (e.g. UK, US, EU double)

  • Available width within frame for mattress: 1400mm
  • Outside-to-outside of the base unit metalwork: 1567mm
Note there are some screw heads which extend about 5mm more on each side.
  • Total width of the frame at the foot end, at the ‘legs’: 1466mm

Length/height measurements for 2050mm long mattresses (e.g. US queen):

    • We have found that a snug fit is best so we have rationalised this frame length to the same as the 2000mm version, as below.
    • We have reached this decision following extensive feedback from North American customers who have almost universally reported a gap at the foot of the mattress, which is accentuated by the mattress compressing slightly when vertical.

Length/height measurements for 2000mm long mattresses (e.g. UK & EU king, EU double):

    • Available length within frame for mattress: 2000mm
    • Rear wall to foot of bed when horizontal: 2150mm
    • Floor to highest point of bed frame when vertical: 2110mm
    • Maximum height of rack pull-up bar (centre of bar, no extensions): 2080mm
    • Height of power rack uprights: 2110mm
    • Max height of extended power rack pull-up bar (centre of bar): 2455mm

Length/height measurements for 1900mm long mattresses (e.g. UK & US double):

    • Available length within frame for mattress: 1900mm
    • Rear wall to foot of bed when horizontal: 2050mm
    • Floor to highest point of bed frame when vertical: 2010mm
    • Maximum height of rack pull-up bar (centre of bar, no extensions): 1980mm
    • Height of power rack uprights: 1910mm
    • Max height of extended power rack pull-up bar (centre of bar): 2355mm

    Mat measurements

The PIVOT Multi-layer Exercise Mat has two layers if placed on carpet and one for a hard floor. The wooden layer is optional and we only recommend it for use on carpet, but you can pay the extra for this layer if you are really worried about your hard floor. You should add the thicknesses together for the layers suitable for your flooring. The size of the mat does not vary by bed size and if required it can be cut to size quite simply by the customer using commonly found, inexpensive tools.

We do not recommend any mat which doesn’t extend to the full extremities of the bed when horizontal and we do not recommend foam mats for any heavy equipment or strength training in general as firm, stable footing is essential.

    • Thickness of top layer (natural rubber): 7mm
    • Thickness of wooden (OSB3) layer: 11mm
    • Total length: 2250mm
    • Total width: 2000mm
