Our oak headboards add an understated class to your PIVOT Bed, and your room as a whole.

CNC-cut from Crown Cut European Oak veneered Birch Plywood, PEFC Certified Material. Birch is the best wood to use as the 'core' of plywood, but it's not the most beautiful of wood grains. Hence we use high-quality, birch-core plywood with a beautiful oak veneer on both sides. We create a nice, smooth bevel on all the edges, and use exposed-edges of the plywood for a lovely, subtle aesthetic.

After cutting it goes to a local specialist to expertly coat it. Currently we have the Dark Oak ('Jacobean') colour, which involves staining the wood before applying the hardwearing, clear lacquer. We will soon have examples to share in natural, light oak colour, which only have the clear lacquer with no stain applied. The coating process involves multiple coats and sanding in between. These are not mass-produced headboards and, like everything else we do, our focus is on quality.

Like all our headboards, these come with pair of included steel mounts which attach to the base unit of PIVOT for strength and simplicity. These versions are angled back slightly for comfort, and allow the bottom of the headboard to reach below the top face of your mattress. We still recommend a maximum mattress thickness of 270mm / 11", but 300mm / 12" does work – the mattress can rub gently on the wall, that's the only small risk.

These oak headboards are paired perfectly with our 'floating' bedside tables, available separately (and you can see them in some of the images). The table tops are cut from the same material and coated at the same time to ensure a perfectly-matching finish.
