PIVOT Power Rack

PIVOT Power Rack

The PIVOT Power Rack is the perfect add-on for anyone looking to perform any of the myriad of strength-based exercises made possible by a rack and attaches easily onto PIVOT Bed. Now you don't have to dedicate a whole room to be a gym, you can have your gym stored under your bed.

75x75 mm (~3x3") uprights in high quality 3 mm (~11 gauge) steel bring the strength of a commercial power rack to your bedroom. The rack comes with adjustable, telescopic feet to enable it to pivot under the bed when not in use and then be driven into the floor securely using a strong lever on the back of each upright. This ensures that the rack always has a firm, stable contact with the floor. The forces from loading the rack, or even dropping a barbell on the safety spotter arms, go directly down into the floor like any other rack, there is no effect on the bed's latches or pivots.

The uprights feature westside hole spacing in the lower area to give you finer control over barbell positioning (every 25 mm), with the remainder having holes every 50 mm.

The included J-hooks are not your standard after-thoughts: we've designed them from one solid piece of 10 mm (~3/8") steel, folded to perfection and with zero welds. We wrap virtually every face of the J-hooks with durable neoprene rubber to not only protect your barbell, but also to protect your uprights.

The rack can be extended and ready for exercise in seconds, and the same is true for stowing it again should you want to either return the bed to its sleeping position or merely perform different exercises using the entire available floor space.

The rack also comes with a set of stainless steel magnetic locking pins which help to ensure that, just like everything else with PIVOT Bed, there are no annoying rattles when the bed is in the sleeping position.

For the wider bed sizes, the rack can be mounted offset about 100 mm (4") to either side of the bed to help give you more room for your barbell, should your bed be close to a side wall.

The following article covers the best position for your PIVOT Bed

The power rack includes a pair of our J-hooks, a fully-adjustable pull-up bar and all the brackets and stainless steel nuts, bolts, washers and pins required to affix it to the PIVOT Bed. As a whole, the PIVOT Power Rack combines 189 separate components, compared to about 60 for a generic folding rack. Despite this, we have tested the rack to well in excess of it's rating of 1,000 KG.

This product does not include the main PIVOT Bed or the mat featured in the images.

      Shipping Information

As per all of our accessories, the price shown is inclusive of all shipping, duties and taxes – if bought with one of our packages and hence shipped on the same, large pallet. Here we simply pay extra per KG. If you purchase an accessory separately, without a package (or after you've received your package shipment), we reserve the right to ask you to cover some shipping costs as this costs us considerably more.

      Frequently Asked Questions

Why is this more expensive than other folding racks?

There is a lot of additional engineering and complexity in our rack because it must pivot under the bed. For one, the feet must retract upwards, inside the uprights, to enable them to clear the floor. This requires a clever, custom-designed and manufactured mechanism and this must all remain able to take huge weights.

Can I use another brand's rack on PIVOT Bed?

No, that would be trivialising the amount of additional engineering involved in our rack to allow it to function. This is not about creating a closed ecosystem, this is simply that no other rack is designed or engineered to deal with being pivoted into a horizontal position.

I want an imperial version, can I have one?

No. Most of the world uses the metric system now and most of the racks you'll find available even in North America are actually metric racks because they are made outside of North America. They may state they have 3x3" uprights with 5/8" holes, but there is a very good chance they are not and they are actually 'imperial equivalent' 75x75mm uprights with 16mm holes. As a result, most of the accessories on the market will fit better on our metric rack but not on true imperial racks. You have more accessory options with a metric rack.

Is XYZ accessory from ABC brand going to fit the PIVOT rack?

This is a generic question relating to metric versus imperial racks. As 3x3" uprights are very slightly larger than 75x75mm uprights, and 16mm holes are very slightly larger than 5/8", you will find that almost all imperial accessories will fit a metric rack. The exception is accessories which have two pins, because of the difference between metric and imperial spacing – you'll find only one of the two pins will line up with the hole.

      Can I fit jammer arms?

You could, but we feel this is going in the wrong direction for how any folding rack is intended to be used. PIVOT is designed so all of the exercise equipment can be stored quickly under the bed within about one minute. If you need to detach huge jammer arms and store them somewhere each time you need to lower the bed for guests, it's going to become a pain. Jammer arms also add huge lateral leverage which has the potential to cause havoc with any folding rack.

Less is more, in many cases, and the PIVOT concept is about giving you the fundamental building blocks to train heavy in your home. The concept is not the same as the more traditional garage gym, where often the result is a garage overflowing with machines and equipment with much of it rarely or never used.

PIVOT Bed is available in three lengths:

      (1900mm/6'3", 2000mm/6'7", 2050mm/6'9")

      and three widths:

      (1400mm/4'7", 1500mm/4'11", 1600mm/5'3").

Due to international naming conventions and minor size differences, it's crucial to refer to the dimensions on our product page. For unlisted size combinations, reach out to us. While the mattress size may differ slightly from the frame, this should not cause concern. We're exploring the possibility of wider beds, such as 1800mm (5'11") and 2000mm (6'7"). Your interest can influence these potential offerings, so let us know if these are sizes you'd want.

You can find all of PIVOT Bed's measurements HERE.
